Dipu Moni instructed deleting all the graffiti at SUST

Dr. Dipu Moni instructed the students who have been protesting for the resignation of the Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology to remove the satirical slogans and graffiti painted on the walls of various buildings of the university within a day. At the same time, it has been decided to convey the demands of the agitators to Chancellor and President Md. Abdul Hamid by instructing the Vice-Chancellor of SUST to continue performing his duties, he said. The information was given at the press conference after the meeting with the Minister of Education with Professor Dr. Anwarul Islam and Registrar Muhammad Ishfaqul Hossain. He said that on Friday (February 11) at 6:25 pm, the Education Minister witnessed anti-Vice Chancellor satirical slogans and graffiti on the wall in front of the gate. At that time, he instructed to remove these within a day. Besides, the education minister also gave this instruction during the discussion with the university administration. Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni had a discussion with the Vice Chancellor and other teachers at the Vice Chancellor's office at the university at 7.25 pm. Ishfaqul Hossain said the minister called upon the teachers to restore normalcy on campus during the talks. She also asked the vice-chancellor to discharge his duties. At the time, Treasurer Anwarul Islam said that the Minister had said that the allegations made by the students about the Vice-Chancellor were being investigated. At the end of the investigation, the President will make all the decisions. February 14 is Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Day. The Education Minister has asked to take steps to ensure that the day is observed properly. Earlier in the afternoon, after a meeting with the agitating students of the University at Sylhet Circuit House, the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni said some of the demands of the students have been met. However, the Chancellor will decide on the resignation of the VC. This matter will be brought to the notice of the President. The Education Minister arrived at Osmani International Airport by air at 8.50 am on Friday (February 11) to resolve the ongoing crisis at the university. The Education Minister was accompanied by Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel and Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed. The agitating students have continued their protest demanding the resignation of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed and Proctorial Body.
